DECKadence COLOR APPLICATION STUDY

December, 2015
Color Application:

Four samples of DECKadence were used and prepared in the following manner:

No treatment of DECKadence, simply sprayed with SEM Color Coat.
DECKadence cleaned with rubbing alcohol then sprayed with SEM Color Coat.
DECKadence cleaned with rubbing alcohol, applied with SEM Sand Free and sprayed with SEM Color Coat.
DECKadence sprayed with SEM Sand Free and spray painted with SEM Color Coat.
Application of SEM Color Coat, #15233 Black Gloss, was done in four (4) “light” coats. The spray can was held approximately 6” away from the surface. Drips and running paint was not a concern in this application. As opposed to waiting 5 to 10 minutes between coats, a blow dryer without heat was used between coats.

Paint Adhesion Test:

Various “scruff” tests were performed on each sample 24 hours after the final paint
coat was applied. Test results follow.
